Rural accommodation El Valledor is an excellent starting point to learn about the immediate environment, and its most outstanding natural and cultural values.

The routes we suggest you will help you to learn about the history of the council and the surrounding areas: visiting the Castro of San Chuis or Castro Chao San Martin, admire the dam Salime, civil engineering that marked the final isolation Valledor,( in whose construction 3500 people participated and 200 died)and that keeps some spectacular murals of Vaquero Turcios.

Each of our towns is different, and all of them stand out for their excellent traditional architecture, houses, and typical “raised granaries”… with centuries of history and an own decorative style called “Style Allande”. Such is the value of some of them have been declared of cultural interest, such as the Ethnographic Joint San Emiliano, or the Tower of Valledor of the sixteenth century. Some others of special interest are Fonteta, Villalain and San Salvador.

Unforgettable landscapes that invite you to rest and to relax, breathing the fresh air in the peaks of the protected Landscape of Sierra of Valledor and Carondio, where you will find the “brañas vaqueiras” (mountain settlement) as well preserved as the Braña del Campel, testimony of the nomadic life of our ancestors, or admire natural monuments as the unique “Alcornocal del Boxu”, the Tejo de Lago or Santa Coloma, are just some of the reasons why it’s worth spending a few days in the most isolated place in Spain, surrounded by mountains, history and tranquillity.
